Strip or multi-sheet

The engine has two ways of working, and it chooses for you:

• the strip when you declare ONE single sheet (one quantity of one format) — or ask for the left-edge direction only — and everything can fit on it: parts pack against the requested edge and the engine tightens the used width — one clean offcut remains on one side, easy to store, easy to reuse;
• full sheets otherwise: the engine fills whole sheets one after another and minimizes their count — every sheet saved is material saved.

Why the computing stops when it stops

The engine stops on a plateau: when its parallel searches stop finding anything better for a while, it returns the result. It is not a timer — it is a calibrated patience that depends on the size of the job. You can always stop earlier: the best result already found is kept.

What the badges guarantee

The result badges are promises measured on the finished geometry, not estimates:

• “Overlap-free” — no part overlaps another;
• “Inside sheet” — everything is within the sheet’s bounds;
• “Gap ≥” followed by your spacing — the distance between any two parts respects the requested spacing;
• “Not verified” — beyond 5,000 parts per sheet the check can no longer measure everything; the badge SAYS so rather than lie.
