NestorCut's engine is built on sparrow, the state-of-the-art strip-packing heuristic from KU Leuven, and a dedicated exact collision engine. Not a greedy first-fit — a modern separation-and-compaction optimizer.
Two-phase bi-axial compaction
After minimizing the used length, the whole layout is transposed 90° and re-optimized in a tight corridor — forcing parts into pockets other tools leave empty.

What is nesting, exactly?
Nesting is the process of arranging 2D parts on a sheet of material so that as little as possible is wasted. A good nesting engine rotates and interlocks irregular shapes to minimize scrap — directly cutting your material bill on every job.
Is NestorCut really free?

Which machines and file formats are supported?
NestorCut works with DXF files — the standard exchange format for laser, plasma, waterjet, plotter and CNC cutting. The output is a clean DXF per sheet (plus SVG previews and a ZIP of the whole job) that loads directly into your machine software.
Can NestorCut nest parts inside holes and cutouts?
Yes. Small parts are automatically placed inside the cutouts of larger ones, and a two-phase compaction pass pushes parts into remaining pockets. That is where the biggest material savings usually hide.
Are my files safe?
Your uploaded files and results are stored securely and are only visible to your account. For maximum confidentiality, the Pro plan adds zero-knowledge encryption: your files are encrypted with a key only you hold, so even we cannot read them.
Can I pay per use instead of subscribing?
Yes. If you only nest occasionally, credit packs are available — each nesting operation simply consumes credits from your balance. No recurring commitment.
What is your cancellation and refund policy?
