Nesting Software Pricing: Which Plan Actually Pays for Itself?
A steel sheet costs between 150 and 230 € depending on size and the market. That is the right yardstick when talking about nesting software pricing: the question is not “how much per month”, it is “how much material am I throwing away every month in poorly optimized layouts”.
NestorCut has four ways to pay, including one at 0 €. Here is what each one really buys you, plain and simple.
Four ways to pay, one single engine
- Free, 0 €. 10 nestings a month, 2 sheets per job, fully local compute in your browser. No credit card.
- Unlimited, 19 € / month. Unlimited nestings, multi-sheet, 3 layouts to compare, material report export. 7-day free trial, cancel anytime.
- Pro, 39 € / month. Everything in Unlimited, plus the maximum compute budget and the priority queue.
One point before the details: the engine is the same everywhere. True-shape nesting, hole nesting (small parts placed inside the cutouts of big ones), offcut recovery, all of that is in every plan. What changes between plans is volume and compute power, not the quality of the algorithm.
The free plan is for testing. Really.
A lot of “free plans” are disguises: they let you prepare everything, then the download sits behind a paywall. Ours is a real plan: 10 complete nestings a month, from file upload to cut-ready DXF, with DXF, SVG and ZIP exports.
It is also the most private option for your files: free accounts always compute locally, in your browser. With the 100% private project option, your parts never leave your machine at all. We detailed all of this, with diagrams, in our article about where your DXF actually goes.
The limits of Free: 2 sheets per job maximum, and a solve that runs on your processor rather than on our servers. For an occasional job or for testing the tool on your real files, that is plenty.
Unlimited: the plan that pays for itself with one sheet
19 € a month. In regular production, Free is no longer enough: you need unlimited nestings, several sheets per job when an order goes past one plate, and the choice between 3 layouts for each job (the densest, the one with the largest reusable offcut, and a balanced one). The material report export is included, for your quotes and tracking.
Run the math on your side, with your numbers: if the engine saves you a single sheet in the month, just one, the subscription is covered several times over. A 150-230 € sheet against a 19 € subscription is a short division.
And if it does not deliver for you: cancel anytime from your account, full refund within 30 days, no questions asked. The 7-day trial is not charged before it ends.
Pro: when every density point matters
Pro adds neither privacy nor hidden features. It buys compute power.
Every plan stops at the same point: when the engine stops progressing, the result is delivered. Pro searches with more cores at once — the same result arrives sooner, which is visible on big jobs with many parts and cutouts to fill. The priority queue moves your solves ahead of the line.
The decision rule fits in one line: if the time saved on your big jobs is worth more than 20 € of material in the month, Pro pays for itself. If not, stay on Unlimited. We would rather have you on the right plan than on the expensive one.
What you will not find on this page
- No promised savings percentage. “Up to 30 % less material”, you have read that everywhere. The real gain depends on your parts, your sheet sizes and your quantities. We would rather invite you to measure on your own files, with the free plan, than print a number that means nothing.
- No privacy sold as an add-on. The zero-knowledge vault (your files encrypted with a key we do not have) is available on every plan, including Free. Privacy is not a luxury.
- No disguised lock-in. Trial not charged, free cancellation, 30-day refund. It is written here and applied the same way.
Compare on your own numbers
For reference, comparable online nesting tools charge between 49 and 59 $ a month (public prices as of August 2026). But the best reference is still your own shop: run a free job on a real file, and look at the material saved shown on the result. That number picks the right plan, not us.
